I bought and used a prepaid Wind sim card from Save on Roaming for a trip to Italy in January. The card arrived in a couple of days to a US address, their support and response to my questions was outstanding, and I was able to activate the internet service outside Italy before I arrived. The card worked seamlessly from the moment I arrived to Italy, and had great coverage throughout Tuscany, Rome and Naples areas.
Internet service was excellent. I was able to use all my apps (maps, translator, google maps etc.) at a very acceptable speed and for one fixed unlimited use fee.
I highly recommend the Save On Roaming Wind card with 30 day internet service to anyone travelling to Italy.

Getting a landline connection on our branch in Sardinia is difficult and expensive, therefore we tried first with Sat-DSL, but it was unreliable and slow. With our mobile phone, an italian SIM-Card and a data flatrate, we have a steady internet connection and can always be reached by our clients.
